NTRP levels
NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) is an international player rating from 1.0 (beginner) to 7.0 (professional). It helps you pick the right tournaments and opponents.
Beginners
- 1.0 – brand new player, just picked up a racket
- 1.5 – learning basic strokes, rallies are difficult
- 2.0 – can sustain short rallies, strokes still inconsistent
- 2.5 – rallies at a slow pace, starting to control direction
Recreational players
- 3.0 – consistent basic strokes at medium pace, learning point construction
- 3.5 – controls direction and depth, starting to use spin
- 4.0 – reliable strokes, tactical play, more aggressive first shot
- 4.5 – controls pace and spin, mentally solid in competition
Advanced players
- 5.0 – plays tournaments regularly, has real weapons and tactics
- 5.5 – high-level amateur / national junior level
- 6.0–7.0 – elite national and professional level
How to choose your level
When in doubt, pick the lower level and let your results speak. You state your level when registering for a tournament, and your results help refine it over time.
